Mr. Becerra, with more than 35 years of progressively responsible experience has led firms through start-up, survival, turnaround and growth modes. With his knowledge and leadership he has made CIR LAW OFFICES INTERNATIONAL a leader in the collections/litigation industry. He has 2 passions: Business and Big Wave Surfing.
Partner – Intellectual Property and Civil Litigation
Christian is licensed to practice law in Hawaii and California, is a registered patent attorney, and has been litigating cases for nearly 10 years. Throughout that time, Christian obtained a broad base of legal experience, including that obtained from having been a managing attorney at a large San Diego law firm. Christian also teaches Intellectual Property Law at San Diego Miramar College and has presented continuing legal education classes in national venues. Christian's practice focuses on intellectual property prosecution and litigation, as well as other business litigation.

Operations Manager – International Partner
Alfonso is responsible for operations and processes in the firm. Also, as a Mexican attorney he oversees the Mexico office and manages the corporate legal services. He advises clients on contractual and corporate issues. He sees contracts as a chess board with efficiencies and strategies can be implemented in benefit of involved parties. He has a passion for reading, spending time with his family and would like to get better in surfing and jiu jitsu.
Partner – Collections
Michael manages the firm’s entire collection process and uses his knowledge of issues surrounding creditors’ rights to develop strategies designed to exceed client goals while maintaining a strict adherence to the ever-changing legal and compliance requirements of the debt collection industry. Always willing to try new things, he is currently attempting to learn how to surf.
Nicole began her legal career as a paralegal at a firm in downtown San Diego handling insurance bad faith and personal injury litigation. After 3 years as a managing paralegal, Nicole went to Thomas Jefferson School of Law where she graduated 5th in her class with the honors of magna cum laude. Nicole was an active member of the Thomas Jefferson Law Review and served as the Lead Articles Editor from 2014 to 2015. Nicole was also recognized with the CALI “Excellence of the Future Award” for Contracts, Civil Procedure, and Legal Writing. Since becoming licensed to practice law, Nicole has worked in the areas of criminal defense, civil litigation, and collections litigation. Nicole has successfully argued countless motions before the court as well as received numerous favorable trial verdicts for civil litigation and collections clients. Nicole currently handles collections litigation and various business litigation cases.
Abril completed her undergraduate education in France and in the UK before moving to San Diego in 2004. She worked as a paralegal before attending law school and graduated Cum Laude from California Western School of Law in 2014. Abril has worked in civil litigation and restraining orders. She has also collaborated since law school with the Public Defender’s Office in North County to counsel defendants in Homeless Court. [Abril has also volunteered with both the Stand Down event and the Clean Slate Expungement Clinic in North County. Abril joined CIR Law Offices’ collections team in July 2017. In her free time, she loves movies and going on road trips with her husband, daughter, and dog.
Accounting Department Manager and CPA
Michael manages the finance department for the firm and is also very involved in the strategy and operations of the collection process. He has been a licensed CPA for over 15 years and spent 10 years with a regional CPA firm in audit, tax and business consulting. Michael spends his free time with his family and surfs and golfs whenever possible.
Client Relations and Compliance
Kaitlin oversees compliance in and constant changing regulatory environment and is directly involved in the preparation and handling of internal and client onsite audits. She is responsible for monitoring and creating all of the firms policies and procedures. She enjoys the outdoors of sunny San Diego like hiking and kayaking.
Fernando has been with CIR Law Offices for over 4 years, and has been the Collections Manager for 2 years. He began as a Collector, then was promoted to Team Captain, Supervisor, and finally Collections Manager. His dedication and hard work has built a strong Collections team throughout the years, and he continues to incorporate new strategies and ideas to an already superb team. As a hobby, Fernando is an avid musician, playing everything from drums to guitar.
