Background

Amelia A. Gilmer is an associate attorney, focusing her practice on the areas of commercial litigation and banking & debtor/creditor litigation.

Amelia earned her Juris Doctor summa cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law, where she was manuscript editor of the University of Richmond Law Review. While at law school, she received the Glenice B. Coombs Award for Law Review Excellence and the CALI Award for Excellence in Torts and Bankruptcy and Corporate Reorganization. Amelia also served as a research assistant for two professors from 2020 to 2022.

Prior to joining Cameron Ingersoll Roche, Amelia worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Frances H. Stacy in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.  She then was a summer associate at a law firm in Norfolk, Virginia. That internship led to a full-time associate position in which Amelia engaged in a a vigorous research and motions practice to include trial preparation and heavy client involvement in maritime and commercial litigation.
